Baking tips

if u really don't wanna throw your hrs of hardwork into the trash these r the things u need to take care of ,specially as a beginner

measurements:
  • being a beginner dont use just any cup for measuring baking ingredients, unless you are a pro.always use baking cup measurements, and follow the recipe
  • try to use pure vanilla extract in the recipes when required ,coz artificial ones r not good
  • when measuring brown sugar always pack the sugar into the cup,tat is lightly pressing it into the measuring cup and then measure 1 cup
  • when measuring flour 1 cup doesn't mean 1 heaped cup use a spoon to roughly level the cup for measurement
  • its always better to have a small measuring scale in the kitchen for perfect measurement if you r confused with the cup measurements
  • try to check the cup measurements their equivalent measurements in grams or ounces, that can help with your confusions regarding measurements
oven:
1.always preheat the oven to the required temp for the dish ur baking,if your oven doesn't have the temp display and doesn't have the preheating option then you can preheat for 10-15 minutes prior to baking
2.make sure the baking tray is in the middle rack of the oven for baking
3.for broiling it is the top rack
always use mittens while placing or taking out the bakeing dishes
4.microwave and conventional ovens are two different ones.you cannot use same utencils for both.make sure when you pick utencils pick the right one.
5.check the information given on the utencil if its written microwave safe then its only for microwave,if its written conventional oven safe then its only for conventional oven ,and if its mentioned convention and microwave then you can use for both

preparing the pan:
  • for cakes always grease ur pan with butter or oil
  • cut the parchment paper to the shape to fit the bottom of the pan and grease it so tat the cake comes out clean..for cupcakes use paper linings/cups
  • if the recipe calls for dusting depending on the recipe u can dust with coco powder or flour
  • always check atleast 5-10 mins prior to the given time of baking as every oven cooking time is not same.an also u will avoid overcooking
checking if its cooked or not:
  • .u can check whether the cake or cupcake is done by inserting a knife or a toothpick in the centre of the cake .if the knife is clean then its done, if its sticky then let it cook for a lil longer
  • always allow the cake or cupcake to cool for sometime,or else it might not come clean or it might crumble
mixing ingredients:
  • do not mix wet and dry the ingredients together at once.mix dry ingredients separate and wet ingredients separate and then mix all together.always do what the recipe demands
  • sifting the flour or the dry ingrdients mixed together helps to avoid lumps an also to get the even distribution of ingredients
techniques:

  • 1whenever u r folding in egg whites or whipped things into dry ingredients use the folding technique this will retain the fluffiness of the batter.do not vigourously mix!
  • for cookies usually we don't need electric mixers you can dot it by hand with a wisk or a spatula, only thing to mind is the creaming of butter where your hands need to be quicker
